Governing Board Update
Hello Scorpion Families,
Please see the message below regarding an update to distance learning following Winter Break:
Governing Board Decision Regarding Distance Learning:
This afternoon, PLC Charter Schools’ Governing Board decided unanimously in favor of continuing academic instruction via distance learning through the middle of Quinmester 4 (February 12th, 2021).
The board will reconvene on February 9th, 2021 to assess our instructional approach and overall needs within the community regarding COVID-19 and potentially determine the outcome for the remainder of the school year. I would like to thank our Governing Board for placing the safety of our school community first.
The data utilized to help in today’s decision Maricopa County and the Arizona Department of Health Services due to this specified community outbreak. At this time, the data indicates our community meets the “Substantial Risk” criteria with a recommendation to provide instruction via virtual learning. This is public information that can be accessed by following the link below:
https://www.maricopa.gov/5594/School-Metrics
We will continue to monitor the Maricopa County Department of Health Services and Arizona state guidance for a safe reopening. Our hope is to see an adequate and consistent decline in the cases we are experiencing within our community which will allow our campus to safely reopen.
We will continue to encourage our school community to remain diligent with maintaining healthy habits, staying safe, as well as continue to be supportive and involved in the educational experience we are providing. Your continued encouragement and support of our staff does not go unnoticed and truly allows our school climate to thrive. We appreciate our families tremendously.

https://www.maricopa.gov/5594/School-Metrics
Apreciamos enormemente a nuestras familias.
