Music

All Performing Arts classes will participate in a quarterly Informance to showcase their abilities in music, dance, and acting.

 

K - 2nd Grade Beginning Music

Beginning Performing Arts class is an introductory course, consisting of students in the Kindergarten through 2nd grade age group.  They will focus on the introduction to music through rhythm, beats, the solfege scale, music notation, and basic performance skills.  Students will learn pieces from a variety of genres and cultural roots.  

3rd - 5th Grade Beginning Music

Intermediate Performing Arts class is an introductory course, consisting of students in the 3rd  through 5th grade age group.  They will continue the focus on rhythms, beats, music notation, and basic performance skills as well as an introductory course to playing an instrument from recorders to ukuleles or drums.  Students will learn pieces from a variety of genres and cultural roots as well theatrical broadway Jr. scenes. 

6th - 8th Grade Choir Class

Intermediate/Advanced Performing Arts class is a moderately challenging course for the Junior High age group. Students will work through the rhythms, beats, and music notation as well as incorporating theater arts from performing and singing to stage crew involving light and sound choreography to set design.
